India is land of many mysterious things.
It is home to thousand years old ornately sculpture temples, the world famous Taj Mahal, modern skyscrapers and prevalent slums.

The mystery of twins is one of those things which attract the world to India.
There is a village, Kodinhi in Kerala, south India.
Kodinhi, a remote and sleepy village in Kerala's Malappuram district, continues to be a mystery to researchers.
This village has the largest number of twins in Asia.
This village is noted for having a high twinning rate although India has one of the lowest twinning rates in the world.
India's first association of twins in the country, 'The Twins and Kins Association', was founded in the village.
The population of this village is hardly over 2000.
Muslims are in majority in Kodinhi.
This village came in the spotlight when a survey done by local government.
Government noticed that the one place in the state has an unusual number of twins so they decided to do a specific survey for that place.
Survey report spread quickly in Nation then several international newspapers bought the attention of people outside India to the attraction of the spot.
The first survey was done in 2008. 
The survey found the figure to be closer to 100 pairs(200 individuals).
The government did a survey in recent time again and now the number of twins in the village has reached to 300 pairs.
The number has only increased in the years that followed, residents point out.
In 2016, A team of researchers collected saliva and hair samples from the twins to study their D.N.A. 
Researchers point out that though there are multiple speculations about why this could occur nothing has been proved scientifically.
         Nowadays this village becomes the center of attraction for visitors. When you enter the village you can see a blue board on which you can read- "Welcome's You To The God's Own Twins Village, Kodinhi"......
